About
She works in acrylic on stretched canvas, laid on thickly enough that the surface throws its own shadow.

The work

Samantha Glisson is a painter. She keeps the ground pale so the color stays high and light, and one of the works here is watercolor and ink on paper rather than acrylic.
The subjects repeat. Angels, most of all — standing, winged, faces left unpainted. Churches and crosses. Dogs, painted at their own eye level. Water: a boat pulled up on sand, a coastline seen from above. And the wide, loud abstracts, where a word is written across a canvas until it becomes a surface.
She paints live at weddings and events, takes commissions, and teaches.
